HISTORY

Welcome to Havens Medical Group where we have been treating patients since 1952. Dr. Lyle Havens with his brother Dr. Thomas Havens opened the practice over the drug store on Spring Street in downtown Jeffersonville. Dr. Robert McKechnie then joined the practice in 1961 and soon after, the practice moved to Wall Street.

In 1970, Havens Medical Group moved to our current location and have been providing quality medical care to residents of Southern Indiana and surrounding area ever since. Havens Medical Group was built on a foundation of quality medical care, treating each patient with total care and respect, and a strong foundation of service.

Dr. Robert McKechnie & Dr. Stephen R. Havens We begin our day at 6:45 AM meeting together every morning over coffee at Clark Memorial Hospital where we discuss our hospital patients' cases. This allows us to bond together professionally and personally maintaining a strong, cohesive team that cares for every patient. If, as a patient of Havens Medical Group, you are in the hospital at Clark Memorial, you can be guaranteed that you will be seen every day by your doctor or one of their partners. This ensures continuity of your medical care.

We still love our profession and have built such strong relationships with our patients over the years some have become friends. Proof of Havens Medical Group's success is in providing multi-generational care. Commonly the senior citizen patient we care for now was once a teenage patient, and through the years we now also care for their children and their grandchildren. "It's a lot better to take care of your friends!" stated Dr. Steve Havens.
